February is a great time to get away for winter sun holidays, with heaps of destinations boasting hot and sunny weather including the likes of Mexico, the Canary Islands, Florida and the Dominican Republic.

Then of course for families the month brings the year’s first half term, making for an ideal time to treat yourself and the kids to a getaway.

Cancun and Tulum tend to be popular with holidaymakers thanks to their beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife and luxurious hotels.

In February Mexico boasts hot and sunny days and balmy evenings, so you can bask in that glorious warmth all holiday.

The Maldives are on most people’s bucket lists

You’ve no doubt seen those white sandy beaches and crystalline waters all over your social media feeds, and if you want to see them for yourself, then February is one of the best months for visiting the Maldives.

It’s typically one of the driest months, not to mention that temperatures average 30C – the perfect excuse to laze on the beach, indulge at the buffet, or treat yourself to a spa treatment.

Or of course, to try out one of those bucket list experiences like an underwater restaurant!

The Canary Islands

The Canaries boast year-round sunshine



The Canaries boast year-round sunshine so they can be ideal if you’re looking to escape the gloomy British winter weather.

With temperatures averaging around 24C and the weather typically being sunny, February can be a great time for those who want to hit the theme parks.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is home to some of the Caribbean’s best beaches so it’s not surprising that it’s such a hit with those after winter sun.

After all, boasting temperatures of around 25-28C, it’s ideal weather for relaxing on the beach. Intrepid explorers can also get their fill with heaps of adventures in Punta Cana including sprawling national parks with walking trails and turquoise lagoons, while the villages and towns are filled with must-visit local restaurants and bars.

Cape Verde

Cape Verde is hot and sunny in February



Cape Verde enjoys balmy averages of 25C during February along with sunny weather, which make for ideal conditions to either relax on one of those picture-perfect beaches, have a go at watersports or hike up a volcano.
