After a long week at work, it can be a good idea to plan a trip and simply get away from everyday life. However, choosing the right destination can be tricky. You do not want to spend too much time traveling instead of enjoying the destination, yet you want to pick a place where you can relax and unwind. Here are 5 fantastic destinations with plenty of things to keep you occupied for a short break away.
Miami
Beach bums who love nothing more than to laze around on a sun lounger all day will find Miami to be a great option. There are plenty of beaches to choose from, including the infamous South Beach. Not to mention, you can reserve a couple of nights’ stay at one of their many art deco hotels that line the beaches. There are many other things to do in Miami besides sunbathing. Visit the Wynwood Walls to check out colorful murals created by local and international street artists, visit one of the numerous museums and galleries, and enjoy the buzzing nightlife after hours.
New York
New York City is one incredibly popular tourist destination – and for a good reason. This busy city boasts iconic landmarks, towering skyscrapers, and a plethora of cultural sites. In the Big Apple, culture vultures can spend an entire day visiting the many museums and art galleries, such as The Met, fashionistas can shop to their hearts’ delight in the many department stores and premium outlets, and theatergoers can visit Broadway to watch an array of live performances. NYC is also home to the tallest building in the US, the One World Trade Center. Here, you can climb the 102 floors to get a panoramic view of New York from the One World Observatory.
Sedona
Avid hikers and nature lovers might prefer to leave city life behind and head towards beautiful Sedona instead. Sedona is situated in Arizona, and it takes less than 2 hours to get there from Phoenix. This desert town is home to diverse landscapes, striking vistas, and plenty of hiking trails to keep you busy for 2 days. Those who don’t want to spend the entire weekend hiking can visit the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village to pick up some artisanal souvenirs, sample some good wine along the Verde Valley Wine Trail, or visit one of the many spas.
Orlando
Theme park aficionados will have a great weekend seeking thrills on the many roller coaster rides in Orlando. The theme park capital is home to infamous resorts, such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando. It is the perfect place for adrenaline junkies to let off some steam after a long week.
Chicago

Besides good music, you can also spend hours at Michigan Avenue, also called The Magnificent Mile, eating, shopping, and visiting galleries and museums.
