London-based holidaymakers will be glad to know that new flight routes have been added at London City Airport.
The airport is mostly associated with business trips, with the most popular routes being Amsterdam, Zurich, Geneva and Frankfurt.
London City Airport is now looking to swap suits for swimming shorts with a push to attract holidaymakers to start using the airport next to the Thames in the Royal Docks, Newham.

The new destinations the planes will be flying to from City are Milan, Thessaloniki in Greece, Barcelona, Faro in Portugal and to the Greek island of Mykonos.

There will also be more regular flights to Luxembourg added to the roster.
The major budget operators such as Ryanair and easyJet cannot fly in and out of City because their aircrafts are too large, but BA will be flying CityFlyer operations from there after cutting its commitments at Gatwick.
Prices vary between locations but one-way flights to the added destination generally cost around £100 each during June.
Flights to the added destinations are seasonal and will only fly on certain dates to it is worth checking via the website to see when you can fly.
London City Airport is hoping the new routes will aid their recovery after it was slammed during Covid.

It handled 5.1 million passengers a year before Covid-19 but that number crashed to 905,000 in 2020 and fell a further 21 per cent to 714,000 last year.
According to the airport chiefs, the recovery is already under way, with the last six months of sales indicating annualised passenger numbers of about 1.25 million.
Robert Sinclair, the airport’s chief executive, said: “In 2021, despite predictions from some to the contrary, we did see the emergence of positive business travel trends, which we believe will continue in 2022.”
